The Stibo Accelerator Metaverse is your virtual office space. It allows you and your team to meet, collaborate and manage your work.
In the Metaverse, you feel like you’re in the same location as your teammates, but you can still enjoy all the advantages of digital collaboration.
In the Metaverse you’re able to have virtual meetings with your team, read about the innovative projects Stibo Accelerator students have previously worked on, find out more about the 3 Stibo business units, and play at the playground to find out how to insert 3D objects, and more.
Students writing their thesis in the Accelerator are able to show their work to their mentors and partners.
We’ve placed a rug on the floor, so you don’t hurt yourself and hit objects or people. This will give you a good idea where you are in the ‘space’.
Walking in VR: Use the thumbstick to walk in the Metaverse.
Inserting objects: If you flip your left wrist a menu will appear. Here you can e.g. insert a 3D object, images, videos, and a whiteboard on which you can write.
Feel free to play around and click the buttons to see what’s possible. You can’t do anything wrong.
You can also practice on your own before entering a meeting so you feel confident and gain a clearer understanding of how to insert 3D objects, pictures and videos and know how to work on a whiteboard with a marker and eraser amongst other things. You can practice in the Exercise Area and Playground Area.
First, see which controller is left and which is right, and slide the touch-wrist straps around each wrist.
• Thumbsticks: Press forward to teleport to wherever you want to go in the Metaverse.
• Triggers: The trigger on the front of both controllers lets you select and handle objects.
• Grip button: By pressing the Grip button on the side of the controller you can grasp and move objects.
Comfortable fit: Put on the headset and adjust it so the picture is clear, and the headset sits comfortably. For the best vision it’s important that you position the lens in the sweet spot right in the middle of your pupils. To do this you can adjust the strap and width of the lenses. If the vision is still blurry you can try to gently clean the lenses with a microfibre cloth.
If you wear glasses, you’ll want to put on the headset from the front of your head first.
Turn on: Turn on the Oculus Quest headset with the button on the right side.
To log-in: Change the look of your avatar to your liking and log-in.
You can now explore all the things we’ve covered in previous steps.
To log-out: Flip your left wrist and select the Exit button.
Save and exit if you have work that you want to save for others to see. If not, click exit without saving.
Turn off: Hold the power button for at least 3 seconds until the indicator light goes off.
And please clean and place the VR headset back next to the screen so the next person can use it.
